Taking Photographs for An Updated Portfolio

I recently updated by website including my online portfolio with a simpler look and new photography.

I've divided my portfolio up differently so that work is now in sectors of illustration. I've got an all new wedding stationery section, book illustration and personal illustration with more to come. I've taken out my sketchbook section as I share pages from my art journal and work in progress in posts. But I did include some development pieces amongst spreads of the book I illustrated for Kayla Hollatz back in 2014. You can see a bit more of the year long project here.

I pulled out my leather portfolio during a very big clear out and in it had a lot of pages of development work and original pieces I made for the book. I photographed these pieces layered on the pulled out sketchbook pages I had scanned and used to decide final imagery.

I got some bulldog clips from Paperchase and held full spreadsheets open on our old wooden picnic table in our garden.

I took all photographs on my phone (what!) and edited them with photoshop and VSCO.

You can find the whole portfolio here and you can still buy the book here and here
