I have so many clothes in my wardrobe that I should definitely wear but don't because I stick with a safer option. I'm like 'I don't know if it's gonna suit the occasion' or 'I don't know if it's gonna be too out there'. But when I actually buy clothes - I go quite out there.
I I think now I'm quite comfortable with my style and enjoy wearing the clothes I wear. But sometimes second guessing gets the better of me when I'm (usually rushing while) getting ready in the morning. But I made a pact with myself this summer. To get into my closet and jump out wearing the clothes I just keep in there - but pause over for slight longer than a second - and just wear them already.
I think it's the way I have to tone it down for work and meetings, studio appropriate and 'don't mind if it gets messy' sorts of situations. I just want to have fun with clothes - I do have fun with clothes.
This skirt I've had for a while and have worn a few times. I like the colour as what you wear with it can be quite plain but it still looks interesting. This was actually the first mid-length skirt I bought. I have a few now.
I've paired it with a plain crop top, a necklace that's a favourite and new white sandals I've been breaking in for a wedding this weekend (they are pretty comfortable up until about 5 hours in - by this point I'll be off the champagne and onto the JDs and cokes so I'm not feeling a thing)
So yeah, new isn't always better. And being adventurous has kind of been my mantra this year.
